Adventist Fundamental Beliefs

Adventists uphold the Bible as the only standard for Christian faith. Over the last 163 years, the church compiled 28 Fundamental Beliefs derived from Scripture. These represent Adventist’s understanding of what the Bible teaches.

Adventists believe time and study reveal deeper insights into the Bible.

If, through study, the church derives a fuller understanding of Biblical truth or better language to describe these truths, the beliefs can be revised. As a result, the church first produced the Fundamental Beliefs in 1872, and revised these in 1889, 1931, and 1980. If you would like to read these beliefs, you can find them in the links below.

While the studies on this site do not specifically explore the Fundamental Beliefs, many of the topics do connect in various ways.
