Hello, and welcome.

My name is Samuel Warkentin, and I am currently a student at Andrews University Theological Seminary.

Isaiah 51:1 urges us to understand the foundations and development of our beliefs.

Often, we forget our history. Sometimes, we revisit debates that earlier generations already resolved. At times, ideas that seem foundational today were fringe positions historically. These misunderstandings can potentially grow into unnecessary disputes.

Following Isaiah’s advice, I began studying Adventist history more intentionally. As such, this site reflects a personal journey to learn and share. My hope is that a broader historical perspective can bring clarity to our contemporary conversations and encourage unity.

I hope this site also serves those who have questions about Adventist beliefs. These studies focus on scripture and primary sources rather than theory. Facts promote understanding better than theory.

We live in interesting times and need prayer, Bible study, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance. We also need a clear understanding of our past. Not just selected moments, but the full story.

I pray this site is a blessing and helps you better understand Adventism.
